Nothing to report from Gaborone.
Another decent day in Nairobi as foreigners continue to dominate proceedings. There were a few decent crosses in EABL as the brewer managed to gain +0.4% on 1.4m shares. KNCB closed the day unchanged as foreigners dominated both sides of the name with 4.4m shares changing hands. The usually illiquid BMBC was relatively active as 535k shares traded. Safcom continued to fall as the telco closed the day -0.3% lower on 5.7m shares. EQBNK managed to recoup some of its losses from yesterday after releasing results with the name gaining +1.8%.
Things slowed down in Port Louis today with some small activity in MCBG (71k shares) and SBMH (5m shares) while the rest of the market was rather quiet.
Much of the same once again in Lagos as market participants continue to sit on the sidelines. There was some activity in WAPCO ($1m) while there was nothing else of significance from an activity point of view worth mentioning. Banks closed the day higher with the sector gaining +0.56% thanks to Access (+2.78%) and Zenith (+1.72%). Consumers (+0.40%) were also stronger thanks to Unilever (+1.82%) and NB (+1.00%).
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
A better day in terms of activity in Harare thanks to some activity in NatFoods ($492k), Innscor ($319k) and National Tyre Services ($102k).
