Not the worst day in Gaborone (relatively speaking) with some activity in Sechaba and Letshego as 123k shares and 578k shares changed hands respectively.
A much better day in Nairobi as foreigners dominated proceedings and accounted for 86.2% of activity. KNCB was the most active name on the day thanks to a few decent crosses as the counter fell -0.6% on 9.2m shares. Safcom was also rather active, but the telco fell -2.9% on foreign selling as 14.8m shares traded. EQBNK released FY 2015 results which seemingly surprised the market to the downside as the banking giant fell -4.1% on 2.1m shares. A small bit of activity in EABL as 79k shares traded in the brewer.
A decent start to the trading week in Port Louis after the long weekend thanks mostly to some solid activity in MCBG as 250k shares traded in the name. There was also some small activity in SBMH as 13.5m shares traded.
Another dull day in Lagos with a small bit of activity in Zenith ($1.3m) the only name to break the $1m mark while the rest of the market was dead quiet. Banks had a strong day with the sector gaining +1.34% thanks to UBA (-8.13%) and Access (+2.86%). NB (-2.00%) dragged consumers lower as the sector fell -0.40%. Market heavyweight DangCem (-2.90%) came under pressure, dragging the market lower with it.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Much of the same in Harare unfortunately with small activity in Delta ($393k).
