Movers & Shakers: March 10, 2016

Botswana: DCI -0.10%, USD 268k

A better day in Gaborone in terms of activity, but still nothing too exciting with some activity in Sefalana (197k shares) driving proceedings.

Kenya: NSE 20 -0.04%, USD 4.8m

A quieter day than what we have seen in recent sessions. The only real activity took place in Safcom with aggressive foreign selling pushing the telco down by -1.2% to KES16.25. There was also some trading in the likes of EABL (-40bps, KES282) and EqBnk (+1.2%, KES42.00) while the rest of the market was extremely quiet.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.10%, USD 840k

Another sub-par day from an activity point of view in Port Louis with MCBG once again the dominant force in terms of turnover as 82k shares changed hands.

Nigeria: ASI +0.15%, USD 10.3m

Another rather uneventful day in Lagos with the market not really showing much direction. The banks (+4bps) were rather lacklutre outside of GTB (+12bbps, N16.30) and Zenith (unch, N12.40). Consumers fell by 52bps although outside of NB (-52bps, N96.50) the sector was rather quiet. Dangcem saw some activity to close at N165.01 (+62bps).

Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.

Zimbabwe: Industrials -0.47%, USD 671k

Some activity in FBC Holdings ($355k) and Innscor ($122k) the only names worth mentioning on another quiet day in Harare.
