Nothing to report from Gaborone.
Foreign investors ran proceedings yet again on another average day in Nairobi and were net sellers for the seventh straight session. Foreign demand drove Safcom +0.3% higher as 15m shares changed hands in the telco. Foreign investors drove EQBNK -0.6% lower as 5.1m shares traded. There was some activity in the usually illiquid ARM as foreigners domonated both sides with 2.5m shares traded on the day. KNCB managed to close +0.6% higher while EABL closed the day unchanged.
Things slowed down in Port Louis today with MCBG the main driver behind activity as 75k shares changed hands, while the rest of the market was extremely dull.
Much of the same as what we have been become accustomed to in Lagos with some small activity in NB ($1.1m) and GTB ($1m). The highlight of the day was an off-market cross in Unity Kapital Assurance of 4.16bn shares at N0.77 ($16m). There were a few results out today with Nestle and GSK releasing FY 2015 numbers as they saw mixed fortunes with Nestle falling -1.45% while GSK closed unchanged. Banking stocks continued to fall with the sector closing -1.94% lower thanks to ETI (-4.98%), UBA (-3.74%) and Zenith (-3.74%). Good performances in Dangote Sugar (+4.99%) and NB (+3.28%) drove Consumers +0.64% higher.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Another decent day in Harare (surprisingly) with some decent volume and the market closing higher. This should however be taken with a pinch of salt as a cross in Delta ($1.1m) accounted for all of the volume.
