General apathy across the Nairobi bourse today. There was some decent activity in Safcom (unch, KES16.35). The banks had a mixed day as KNCB rose by 1.2% to KES43.50 while Equity Bank fell by 1.2% to KES40.25. EABL gained 2.2% to KES276.00.
Another rather nothing day from an activity point of view with a small bit of volume in MCBG as 30k shares traded in the name while the rest of the market was dead quiet.
Despite some renewed interest the market remains dull while the ASI fell by almost 1%. Banks actually closed the session in the green (+33bps) although outside of GTB (-33bps, N17.99) the sector was rather quiet. Consumers fell by a massive 2.63% with both Nestle (-1.20%, N820) and NB (-5%, N122.74) both closing lower albeit on small volumes.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Another dull day in Harare with some tiny activity in Econet ($77k) and Simbisa ($60k).
