Today was actually a very dull day and it would have been woeful if it wasn’t for a large local-local cross in KNCB (unch, KES38.50). Elsewhere in the banks there was some decent trading in both Equity Bank (-1.3%, KES38.00) and DTKL (+3.2%, KES191.00). The rest of the market was really dull with Safcom gaining 1% to KES15.25 and EABL rising by 1.6% to KES259.00.
Another sluggish start to the week in Port Louis with some activity in MCBG (53k shares) driving proceedings while the rest of the market was very quiet.
Another lethargic day in Lagos. Banks did find a bid though as the sector gained 3.45% and continue to try and erase 2016’s losses. The sector was led by Zenith (+7.79%, N12.18) and GTB (+6.05%, N16.29). Consumers closed the day down 27bps although outside of NB (-4.81%, N102.80) the sector was incredibly quiet.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
A much better start to the week in Harare thanks to some action in Econet ($1m) and Delta ($369k).
