Not a bad day in Gaborone (relatively speaking) thanks to Letlole as 3m shares changed hands.
Activity slowed down again today in Nairobi as foreigners continue to dominate. A few decent crosses in EQBNK drove proceedings as the counter fell -0.6% on 4.4m shares. KNCB was also relatively active as 3.2m shares traded. Not much on the go in market heavyweights EABL and Safcom as 243k shares and 2.9m shares traded in the names respectively.
It was all about SBMH today as the counter took an absolute beating and fell -5.7% to an all-time low of 0.66 on 19.7m shares. Not much on the go elsewhere as the rest of the market was very quiet.
A much better day in terms of activity in Lagos as turnover increased to $18.1m thanks to some decent crosses in NB ($3.6m), GTB ($3.3m), Zenith ($3.3m) and 7UP ($1.3m). Banks continued to rally today as the sector gained +0.55% thanks to FBNH (+10.25%) and Zenith (+4.56%). It should however be noted that we did see some selling in the banks towards the close of the session. Consumers (+4.80%) had a very strong day thanks to NB (+8.09%) and 7UP (+6.78%).
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Another dire day in Harare with CFI Holdings ($189k) the only name worth mentioning.
