Outside of some action in BIHL (1540t) the bourse was rather subdued.
The Nairobi bourse followed global markets into the red. The main action went through late in the session in EABL as the brewer closed down 1.1% at KES268. The banks were also on the back foot with KNCB closing down 3% at KES39.75 while Equity bank fell by 60bps to KES39.00. Safcom was also soft and closed down 30bps at KES16.05.
Another rather dull day in Port Louis with MCBG (74k shares) dominating proceedings.
Another absolute bloodbath in Lagos as most names spent the day sitting net offered at limit down. Banks fell by a further 4.69% with all Tier 1 names taking a real pounding. Some decent action was seen in the likes of Zenith Bank (-4.39%, N10.45), GTB (-9.64%, N14.81) and FBNH (-9.52%, N3.61). Consumers also fell albeit by a more subdued 2.42%. Outside of NB (-5%, N92.33) the sector was quiet.
