There was some decent action (suspected to be local) in names such as Sechaba (2950t), FNBB (382t), BIHL (1532t) and Barclays (451t).
Another day with a complete lack of interest permeating throughout the market. The only 2 stocks that saw any action were Safcom (-90bps, KES16.25) and KNCB (unch, KES41.50). Equity Bank gained 1.3% to KES39.00 while Britam saw some small crossing going through at KES12.70 (-2.3%).
The market was extremely quiet aside from some small activity in SBMH as 10m shares traded in the counter. Tourist arrivals for December 2015 increased +9.9%.
Even with some late crossing in GTB the market remains dead with red numbers all over the market. Banks closed the day down 62bps although outside of GTB (unch, N17.90) the sector was ridiculously quiet. Consumers fell by a more disappointing 1.49% although volumes in the sector were non-existent. Big drags on the index came from Wapco (-9.66%, N94.86) and Dangcem (-4.31%, N153.10).
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Some activity in Econet ($478k) the only name worth mentioning while the rest of the market was dead quiet.
