Activity slowed down in Gaborone today but it was still rather decent thanks to some action in Letshego (3m shares), FNBB (767k shares) and Sefalana (280k shares).
An extremely dull day in Nairobi. In fact, if it wasn’t for a local-local cross in Equity Bank the day would have been really woeful. On the back of this cross, Equity Bank was the most active stock and closed up 1.3% at KES39.25. EABL fell by 1.5% to KES271 while the rest of the market was quiet.
Things slowed down again today in Port Louis with some small activity in MCBG (29k shares) and SBMH (5.6m shares).
A brutal battering on the Lagos bourse today. Banks (-4.74%) were the real laggards with names in the sector spending the session on net offer at limit down. The bulk of the action took place in Zenith Bank (-9.52%, N10.93). Consumers also got hit as they lost -3.36%. Both NB (-4.74%, N97.18) and Nestle (-5%, N779) got a pounding.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Another dull day in Harare with most of the action centered around Econet as 2.3m shares traded in the name.
