A pretty dull day in Gaborone as just some trading in Choppies ($131k) took place. The other usual suspect Letshego trading no shares at all.
The market traded slightly higher today with Safcom (+2.04%, KES25.00) 46% of total market, KCB (-0.61%, KES40.75), EABL (+0.40%, KES251.00) and Kenya Re (+1.52%, KES20.00) closed mostly firm. The rest of the market was quiet as foreign investors were doing the bulk selling with 61.6% of total market sales and 91.5% of market purchasing.
An improvement on the Mauritius stock exchange today as MCBG (unch, Rs285) accounted for 68.5% of turnover with a significant cross of 227k shares. The other banking stock, SBMH dropped further -0.5% to close at Rs7.76
An average start to the week in Lagos after the long weekend with the banking sector gaining +0.63% thanks to UBN (+3.99%, N5.99), Zenith (+2.61%, N24.01), FBNH (+2.30%, N5.77) and UBA (+1.74%, N8.79). Consumers closed down losses recorded in PZ (-4.98%, N24.23), Cadbury (-4.82%, N10.46), NB (-1.82%, N162.00) and Nestle (-0.42%, N1,215.00). Notable trades of the day were GTB ($3.72m), Zenith ($1.7m), Dangcem ($1.4m), NB ($1.1m) and Stanbic ($1.1m).

The Harare bourse lost ground slightly today with activity spread across a few counters as Innscor (179.97c, $1.1m) lead the way accounting for 50% of total market turnover. Other tickers driving the market were Delta (275.42c, $478k) 22% of market and Powerspeed (7.50c, $298k).
