The DCI closed unchanged again today on improved volume mostly traded in FNBB ($1.15m). The rest of the other counters were quiet.
The indices continued on their downward trend in Port Louis with the SEMDEX down 12bps and the SEM-10 down 20bps. Turnover was decent mainly geared towards foreign trading on the e debt board. MCBG traded flat at Rs275.00 and banking peer SBMH fell again by 1.0% to close at Rs7.56.
At the close of trading today a bullish trend prevailed on the Nigerian equities market, as the NSE ASI consolidated its gains rising 25pbs to settle at 36,622.85 points. The Banking Index closed in positive territory (+0.68%) and the Consumer sector (+0.05%), while the Industrial sector shedded (-0.03%) to close in the red. Gains posted by Diamond(+4.85%, N1.08), Fidelity (+4.52%, N1.62), Uba (+3.30%, N9.40) and Fbnh (+1.65%, N6.15) sustained the financial sector and losses recorded in Cutix (-9.36%, N2.13) weakened the Industrial sector index.

The market eased for the third day in a row dropping 0,04% on the back to losses in Delta (0.05%), Econet (0.6%) and Innscor (0.7%). Econet and Delta continue to dominate volumes together accounting for 80% of turnover.
