Botswana: DCI unch, USD 385k
Not a bad day in Botswana with a few counters contributing towards today’s turnover. Sefalana ($181k) accounting for 47% of the market, Letshego ($151k) being 40%, FNBB ($23k) and BTCL ($18k) the only other tickers with decent activity on the bourse.
Kenya: Closed for presidential election re-run happening today
Mauritius: Semdex -0.19%, USD 31.93m
A massive day in Mauritius today with MCBG acquiring 84.4% stake in Club Med through its wholly owned subsidiary MCB Real Asset Ltd. SBM (-0.08%, Rs7.50) continued its downward trend of which almost 50% was foreign sales while MCBG (unch, Rs275.00) was extremely quiet and IBL(unch, Rs45.00). The rest of the market was extremely quiet.
Nigeria: ASI -0.29%, USD 11.7m
At the close of trading today, bearish sentiments prevailed once again on the Nigerian market, as the NSE ASI shed 29pbs to settle at 36,517.48 points. The Industrial Sector Index closed marginally in positive territory (+1.02%) while the Banking Sector Index and the Consumer Sector Index shed (-0.24%) and (-1.04%) respectively. GTB (-0.71%, N41.70), UBA (-0.64%, N9.34) and NB (-3.73%, N155.00) were the major movers being driven by gigantic crosses.

Zimbabwe: Industrials +0.36%, USD 9.26m
The industrial index continued it downward momentum, closing 36bps lower on the back to losses in Delta (0.3%) FMHL (3%), Innscor (3%) and Simbisa (4%). Turnover increase to USD9,26m driven by Econet ($3.9m) Delta ($3.2m),and OM ($1.6m).
