Not the best way to end the week in Gaborone with two stocks trading below par volumes. Barclays ($23k) and Choppies ($35k) accounting for 33% and 49% respectively of total market turnover.
The Semdex closed the week flat on decent turnover geared towards MCBG (+0.2% Rs275) which traded 147k shares, 110k were foreign sales. ENL traded 562k shares accounting for 24% of turnover, followed by PBL (+08%, Rs 510.00) which witnessed an all time high on foreign crosses.
A bad way to finish off the week with both consumer and financial indexes waning by 0.20% and 0.31% respectively. Zenith ($1.7m, N25.99) weakening 0.99% driven by a few crosses was more than a third of the market, NB ($1.2m, N160.01) loosing 1.22% the majority of shares traded was a massive cross and GTB ($477k, N101.00) unchanged.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
The week ended the same way it has been for weeks and months on end with the industrial index 2.43% week on week. FMP ($3.88m) dominated activity today with 66m shares exchanging hands. There was also some decent activity in Econet ($2.5m), Delta ($1.5m)and OML ($1.1m).
